Zveme na seminář: “Introduction to the Study of Comparative Judicial Behaviour” (Keren Weinshall)

Na dalším semináři z práva, ekonomie a empirie přivítáme Keren Weinshall

Keren je profesorkou práva na Hebrejské univerzitě v Jeruzalémě a v úterý představí projekt s názvem “Introduction to the Study of Comparative Judicial Behaviour”.

Abstract:
These are momentous times for the comparative analysis of judicial behaviour. Once the sole province of U.S. political scientists, a new generation of scholars has increasingly drawn on law, history, economics, and psychology to illuminate how and why judges make their choices and what effect those choices have on society. This chapter begins with a brief discussion of each key term in the definition of the field: judges' choices, their consequences, and comparisons. It then surveys the major theoretical approaches to judicial choices: legalism, attitudinal model, rational choice accounts, identity accounts, and “thinking-fast” judging. We conclude with an overview of the Oxford Handbook of Comparative Judicial Behaviour’s content and goals.
