Department of Criminal Law
In the master's programme of study, the Department of Criminal Law provides the courses Criminal Law (I, II, III and IV), where students are familiarised with the general and special part of substantive criminal law and criminal procedure. Optional subjects offered by the Department include Criminalistics, Methods of Investigating Particular Types of Crimes, Criminology I and II, Judgments in Criminal Cases, Selected Issues of Criminal Liability of Juridical Persons and Proceedings against Them, Forensic Medicine, or Forensic Psychiatry and Forensic Sexuology.
It also regularly offers the Scholarly Seminar in Criminal Law and internships (Internship at Courts II and IV and Internship at a Public Prosecutor’s Office). The Department is also the guarantor of a doctoral programme of study. It ranks among top criminal law research institutions. Its staff publish high-quality textbooks dealing with the subjects mentioned above, as well as monographs and papers in prominent journals and elsewhere. The department regularly organises international scientific conferences.
