Department of Legal History
The Department of Legal History is one of the departments of the Faculty of Law of Charles University. In addition to the obligatory subjects Roman Law and the Foundations of Modern Private Law, Czech and Czechoslovak Legal History, and History of State and Law in Europe and the USA which are taught in the first year of studies at the Faculty of Law, our Department also offers a vast array of elective and optional subjects, including The Origins of Roman Law, Legal History of Churches, and Developments in Czechoslovak Law between 1948 and 1989, to name just a few.
