Application documents
Each candidate must submit the Application Form (available online here) together with all required supporting documents listed below:
Motivation letter (1-2 pages long and written in English; it should demonstrate applicant´s motivation to study the given LL.M. specialisation and outline his/her future career goals following the graduation from the LL.M. programme);
Copy of the university diploma (legalized copy) - candidates must hold a university degree in law or other field of study related to the content of the chosen LL.M. specialisation;
Note: In case the applicant expects to receive the diploma after the application deadline, it is necessary to submit an official confirmation from the current University. This confirmation should state that the applicant is expected to finish his/her ongoing studies and will receive the diploma after the application deadline but no later than in September of that particular year.
Proof of competence in English (B2 level or higher) – applicable only to non-native speakers at B2+ level, provided that they did not carry out their previous university studies predominantly in the English language;
Curriculum Vitae;
List of previous scientific publications (only if applicable);
Confirmation of the payment of the application fee of 200,- USD (to be paid prior to the date of application) - e.g. a scanned copy of a bank order etc. – see below the section regarding the payment of the tuition fee for further details on how to pay the application fee.

Payment of the application fee
Together with the application the applicant must send a proof of the payment of (non-refundable) application fee of 200,- USD (to be paid prior to the date of application).
The payment can be proven by e.g. a scanned copy of the bank order etc.

Application deadline
Applicants subject to visa duty need to apply before 1st May 2025.
EARLY BIRD OFFER - THE TUITION FEES ARE REDUCED TO 6.200 USD (saving you 750 USD), if we receive your complete application before 31st January 2025 and you pay the tuition fees within 14 days from the notification of admission (the notification of admission will be genrally issued within a few days after receiving your application, provided that the application is positively assessed by the admission board).

Submitting your application
The application with all above mentioned requirements has to be sent via email to llm@prf.cuni.cz.
Each candidate´s application will be reviewed by a committee comprised of professors and other representatives of the Faculty of Law after the application deadline. Successful candidates will be notified of their admisson thereafter and will be asked to sign the Learning Agreement.

Tuition fee and further information
Tuition fee itself amounts to 6 950,- USD for the whole Programme. Successful applicants notified of their admission are required to secure their admission with an advance payment of the full tuition fee by 31st August 2025. (More details as to the payment of the tuition fee will be given to the successful applicants when notified of their admision).

LL.M. Programme participants are responsible for financing their living expenses while staying in Prague. Upon request, respective national authorities or information centres in the countries of which the foreign students are nationals may provide advice concerning post-graduate scholarships and other available sources of funding offered by national and international foundations and enterprises.
The Faculty of Law of Charles University in Prague will not provide any scholarships to LL.M. candidates in the next academic year.
The LL.M. courses at the Faculty of Law of Charles University in Prague are offered in line with Sec. 60a of the Act Nr. 111/1998 Sb. (the Higher Education Act). The LL.M. programme and the LL.M. are not per se a qualification for practicing regulated legal professions in the Czech Republic. In accordance with the Czech legislation governing LL.M. programmes the participants do not have the student status in the Czech Republic.
