Information of the Vice-Dean for International Relations regarding the closure of the Faculty of Law of Charles University
10 March 2020, 6:50 p.m.
Hereby we have to inform you that as of 11 March 2020 the Faculty of Law of Charles University will remain closed for students until further notice.
The employees of the Faculty are instructed to limit their presence in the building as well and to work in the regime of „home office“ during this indefinite period of time.
No on-site teaching will take place during this period. However, distance forms of instruction will be implemented and students will receive regular assignments and reading from their teachers.
The student cafeteria (Menza) and Library will remain closed for this undefined period of time as well.
These actions of the Law Faculty are taken in order to implement the general Directive of the Ministry of Health of the Czech Republic issued on 10 March 2020, which requires all universities in the Czech Republic to interrupt on-site education from 11 March 2020 until further notice.
Please note that this information may be subject to change. You are therefore asked to check the webpage of the Law Faculty as well as the webpage of Charles University on regular basis for up-to-date information.
You are also advised to further follow information provided by public authorities and in the case of any relevant health issues to follow their general as well as individual instructions.
As of now, we do not consider this situation as threatening your study at the Law Faculty in general as the distance learning will take place for the necessary period of time. You are advised to remain in Prague and study from your home. It is expected that this closure of universities will remain effective for a period of at least 14 days, however, the real duration of the closure is beyond control of the Law Faculty or Charles University as a whole.
Thank you for your kind understanding and cooperation. Should you have any questions, please contact the admin staff of your respective study programme. In case of academic issues concerning individual courses, please feel free to contact the academic tutors of these courses.
